Gay Prides are the way that the LGBT community gives a punch to controversial and outdated behaviors with a colorful march of gay men and women protesting about their rights and acceptance. Gay Prides have spread all over the world since the first one and almost every country features its own gay pride. There are also many countries which host more than 2 or 3 gay prides, usually based on their biggest towns.
The first gay pride took place exactly one year after the Stonewall riots in Orlando, on the 28th of June, 1970. Since then, June has become the "unofficial" month of the "gay pride" thus most of the countries organize their gay prides during that month. The Gay Pride of Sitges will take place 14th-18th of June, from Thursday to Monday.
