Being a seaside destination with several nearby beaches, Pattaya is the ultimate destination for water-sport activities and excursions by boat.
The most famous beaches in Pattaya are Pattaya Beach & Jomtien Beach. They are sandy beaches with several tourist facilities nearby, as thus, they can get really crowded. However, it is essential to know that
Pattaya Beach is not known for its good swimming conditions but for its large size where you might relax and sunbath or choose among the many water-sport facilities.
On the other hand,
Jomtien Beach is probably the most famous beach in Pattaya. It is especially known for its amazing sand as well as for being better than the nearby beach, Pattaya Beach. You may enjoy a leisure day at Jomptien Beach or visit the entertainment attractions of Pattaya, such as the world-renowned botanical gardens, the stunning water parks or even the many cultural and religious sites.
For a more exotic experience do not miss to visit the
Coral Island, locally known as
Koh Larn. It is located offshore of South Pattaya and the best way to get there is by speedboat. All along the Beach Road in Pattaya and Jomtien you will find several speedboat operators and the cost is about 300 Baht per person for each way.
This island is the best place to enjoy swimming in clean and crystal waters and perfect to indulge in activities such as snorkelling and scuba diving while you can even rent a boat and view the corals through their glass-bottoms. If you don’t have plenty of time, visit island’s most beautiful beaches;
Tawaen Beach and
Samae Beach.
